Tim VandeSteeg is a multi-award-winning Director, Producer and Filmmaker. He is also the founder and CEO of Indiewood Pictures, an independent film and documentary development and production company. Over the past decade and a half, Tim’s development, production and business experiences have included: narrative and documentary films, promotional television shows, interstitials, promos, commercials and behind-the-scenes. Tim has been featured in national newspapers, magazines and books, such as: The New York Times, Moviemaker Magazine, Daily Variety, Hollywood Reporter and the book The Writer’s Guide to Hollywood.
Tim directed and produced projects for ABC including Capital City (starring Peter Fonda and Tom Berenger), Diversity and Less Than Perfect (starring Andy Dick), as well as ABC’s $80 million dollar mini-series Dinotopia (starring Wentworth Miller), and field produced the behind-the-scenes of the Music Man (starring Matthew Broderick, Kristin Chenoweth, Molly Shannon).
Most recently, Tim directed and produced the 10-time award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary MY RUN, narrated by Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton. On March 31, 2011 MY RUN screened in 535 movie theaters nationwide as a one night only Fathom Event in 140 of the top U.S. markets and received over 200 million impressions.
In June of 2011, Tim’s company Indiewood Pictures secured a partnership with Virgil Films to be the North American distributor for MY RUN. Virgil Films distributed such acclaimed and successful films as Super Size Me and the Academy Award Nominated Restrepo. As part of the publicity campaign, Tim also secured Lance Armstrong’s Cancer Foundation LIVESTRONG, Active.com, LifeTime Fitness, Minnesota Twins and LegacyTV as some of the national promotional and marketing partners for its 2011 theatrical and DVD release. Other feature films Tim directed/produced are the indie love story Fall Into Me and the indie golf comedy Mulligan, which was the first film backed by Subway Restaurants and over 50 corporate sponsors.
